Emergency Medical Technician Training Course

This EMT program is an entry level course of 160+ hours that will prepare students for participation in pre-hospital patient care. EMT’s are the first line of treatment providing care that is critical to patient survival. The EMT course provides instruction in life support skills including assessment of patient condition, airway management, treatment of bleeding control, shock recognition, and more. The program is a combination of classroom instruction and 10 hours of clinical observation.

The final step in the program is completion of the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification exam. The examination fee of $125 is separate from the tuition and is paid at the time of the exam.

Prerequisites:

Completion of our BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR course is required prior to the first night of class and is included in the non-refundable deposit.  Please call our office to make arrangements for a class that is convenient for you.

You must be 16 years of age to become certified as an EMT in the State of Connecticut.

Fees:

The cost of this course is $600.  This fee covers tuition and a clinical observation shirt.

This initial EMT course does not include the cost of a text book.

The curriculum required for this class will be AAOS 10th Edition by Jones and Bartlett publishing and Anatomy and Physiology for the Prehospital Provider second edition.

All materials are available for purchase as options, or can be obtained by the student for the first night of class.  Please see the optional items to purchase during registration.

A non-refundable 50% deposit is required to reserve a seat in this class.

Space is limited and seats will be assigned on a first come, first serve basis.

Refund of tuition, other than the non-refundable deposit, will be honored until the second night of the class.
