Accelerated Emergency Medical Technician Training
This EMT program is an accelerated entry level course of 160+ hours that will prepare students for participation in pre-hospital patient care.
Our accelerated course has the same contents of our other EMT Initial courses, with the exception of timing. The Part-Time courses are 16 weeks in duration with approximately 8 hours of classroom instruction weekly, our accelerated course is 8 weeks and has 20 hours of classroom instruction weekly.
EMT’s are the first line of treatment providing care that is critical to patient survival. The EMT course provides instruction in life support skills including assessment of patient condition, airway management, treatment of bleeding control, shock recognition, and more. The program is a combination of classroom instruction and 10 hours of clinical observation.
The final step in the program is completion of the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification exam. The examination fee of $125 is separate from the tuition and is paid at the time of the exam.
Completion of our BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR course is required prior to the first night of class and is included in the non-refundable deposit. Please call our office to make arrangements for a class that is convenient for you.
You must be 16 years of age to become certified as an EMT in the State of Connecticut.

The curriculum required for this class will be AAOS 11th Edition by Jones and Bartlett publishing and Anatomy and Physiology for the Prehospital Provider second edition.
The total cost of this class is $1200 and requires a non-refundable $600 deposit is required to reserve a seat in this class.
