At the current time, NREMT and State of CT are accepting distributive CAPCE courses to renew EMT/EMR certifications. Enrolling in our EMT/EMR CAPCE renewal option will allow you to meet these requirements. See the link below for more details and to register.

The EMT model requires 40 hours of continuing education to re-certify.

The model requires continuing education in three components:

(1) A national component

(2) A local/state component

(3) An individual component.

These components will be required whether nationally registered or not. The state of CT requirements will be synonymous with the National requirements.


20 Hours of National Component – of which only 7 hours of distributive (online) courses can be used.
10 Hours of Local or State Component – of which 7 hours of distributive courses can be used.
10 hours of Individual component – of which all 10 hours may be distributive.

ALL COMPONENTS CAN BE DISTRIBUTIVE AT THIS TIME

EMR model requires 16 hours of continuing education to re-certify.
